M'lisa Paulsen
M'lisa Young Paulsen was born and raised in Salt Lake City, by artistic parents. Her mother was a fine artist and illustrator. She graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA and has been actively showing her work since then. She also has a home in Spring City -- a rural country town which has strong influence her in landscapes.
She is an active member of Spring City, of which she serves on the board of 'Friends of Historic Spring City' of which she donates countless hours to preserve the architectural treasures of the town. She is currently working on saving the 'Old School House' in Spring City.
Though she is drawn to the landscapes of Utah she is drawn toward the nostalgic buildings and monuments in Salt Lake City. She loves to see the old hidden within the urban city.
She won the Deseret News Show in 2002 and has had several shows, including two ' 4 Generation Shows' with her extended family. She won the 1997 Central Utah Art Show. She currently shows at Utah Artist Hands and Ericson Fine Art in Salt Lake City. She also exhibits at Two Sisters Gallery in Heber City, Utah.
She is married to wonderful craftsman Craig Paulsen, of which they have three children.
